Couple of additional "tips" to try.

1. I've now started to spend some time searching before importing and NOT importing music (by checking my iTunes library before importing) I already have! That has saved me and SS from having to search for all those playlist dupe's so SS can then erase them! It does not take very long to do a iTunes...

How about a couple of examples or samples?

About this post: Posted: Wed Dec 02, 2009 11:14 am Post subject: Smart Playlists to the rescue The easiest way to do what you describe is to make a Smart Playlist in iTunes with your criteria, such as: [Date Added] [is in the last] [ 1 ] [months] or whatever. The possibilities here are endless. ... ...

+OPTION: Revert to last "sorted screen" after rest

Because it takes so long to scan a large library, it would be great to have the option of being able to skip doing a fresh sort and revert to the last sort in the event that Song Sgt. displays an error window forcing a restart of Song Sgt. Other App.s offer an option of 'reverting back to last ...",...

Sorting Scanned library by columns (i.e. Artist, Album, etc)

It would be most helpful once that SS scans for dupes, to be able to then sort that info chart by columns like Album, Artist, Types and Date...

This would speed the process up of selecting which songs I want SS to work upon.

Thanks

Change the Left most check boxes & make that ROW a color

The check boxes on the left are confusing and if you "colored" the row instead then folks would not get confused about if an AAC version is going to be sorted instead of the song checked on the left. Plus it would make it easier to read the window.

Beta JOY!

Song Sergeant Beta Version 1.0.4b8 (52) seems to NOT error out like the previous version! It takes it's time but that's OK by me, better safe than sorry! (I guess I've been spoiled by MPFreaker which works much faster...) I'm still unclear how to have SS scan AND MARK Dupe files for AAC priority whe...

Answer clearification

When you said, "ignore the left (track information) area when you're primarily concerned with the audio data, as you seem to be. The item checked on the right (audio data) is all you need to worry about -- different track information will be automarked and used only if it is preferable according to ...

I'd like to be able to stop SS when it checks for dupes.

I have lots of dupes (usually different types of files of same songs) and I'd like to limit SS when it checks for Dupes to say 20, 40, 60 or unlimited; that way I can do a quick scan, Unmark, Mark AAC songs and merge until SS quicks... And start all over again, as it is now it takes a L-O-N-G time t...

Thanks for the suggestions & ideas!

I'm wondering why you do not choose to post a listing of how to's that would make your current and new users much more informed instead of having everyone ask personal questions one by one!
