Deleted songs are not going to trash on my Mac - Lion

When I run the merge and I select to send the files to trash, then get the pop-up if I really want them to go to trash or a folder, the files are being deleted from Itunes, deleted from disk, but not showing up in the trash. I'm processing 45,000 songs so I don't know if that's an issue. This was working before. The last two times I've run the merge with this amount of files or more, they have not gone to the trash. Any ideas?
