iTunes Unresponsive

Post by TuneGod » Wed Oct 19, 2011 10:43 am

Checking the forum, I see that "large files are not a problem", so don't know what my "issue" is. I am about zero for four making it all the way through a clean up of my 81k songs. When "Reuniting Orphans" I get a "iTunes is being unresponsive" message. I have tried closing iTunes, but then SS starts over. I have never seen my Mac lock up nor run so terribly slow! Any suggestions for getting cleaned up. I'd love to try MPFreaker, but don't believe in SS yet . . .

I have indeed heard from many people with libraries larger than yours who haven't had this sort of problem, so I don't think that the size of your library is necessarily a factor.

The "iTunes is being unresponsive" message is a warning, not an error. We've found that on some people's systems iTunes can be less cooperative, in which case Song Sergeant will try to adapt to this condition, even restarting itself if necessary and continuing where it left off. So this isn't necessarily a "show stopper", but if some basic required communication does become impossible Song Sergeant *will* completely stop and display an error dialog.
