1.8 beta?

Post by Clm107 » Sun Sep 07, 2008 8:42 pm

Don't mean to be a pain here, but I downloaded the 1.8 beta version of MPFreaker because 1.7 was freezing up, but 1.8 crashes within 2 minutes of being open. Spent $20 on this app, still haven't been able to use it fully.

What you're experiencing definitely is not normal, even for the 1.8 beta. If you help us, we can fix it:
____

If MPFreaker is crashing in such a manner that you see a window offering to send Apple a crash report, go ahead and view the report then copy/paste it to support@lairware.com. After the fact, you can also look in your home directory -> Library -> Logs -> CrashReporter and send the MPFreaker crash log file found there.

If it is becoming unresponsive but you could still quit out of it normally, launch Applications -> Utilities -> Console and copy/paste the last lines which mention MPFreaker after the date & time.

If it is instead giving you a spinning rainbow cursor that never goes away, it's slightly more complicated. When it is hung, launch Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor. Select MPFreaker in the list, then select Sample Process from the View menu. Then copy/paste the results to the e-mail.
