Dealing with "Track 1" etc. songs

Another e-mail exchange that may be useful to others: When I bought my Mac I was on dial up, so shoved a bunch of CD's in and ripped MP3 files. I thought I would just make one connection and get the data. Wrong. For all those Track 1's, etc. you should try iEatBrainz. It can scan a bunch of songs au...

Working with your entire iTunes Library

Is there a way to get MPFreaker to earch the iTunes Library for mssing artwork? MPFreaker doesn't work directly with your entire iTunes Library, for technical reasons. However, if iTunes is keeping your music folder organized for you (as it does by default), there is another way. To find out if you...

Trouble changing Sets

I just had an exchange of e-mail with someone having trouble with PixelToy's interface, and I suspect this may be illuminating for people just getting started with PixelToy. For the life of me I can not get the text and images to stop coming up. I turn them off in actions, then as soon as I come bac...

Lyrics support

I can now say that very nice lyrics support will appear in MPFreaker 1.4. I can't say when it will be released, but it should be quite soon. MPFreaker 1.4 will be a free upgrade for all MPFreaker owners.

Re: Discrepancy Between iTunes Tag Data and What MP3Freaker

1. Some songs have full tag information labeled in iTunes, but do not fully show up in MP3Freaker (missing album, artist, etc.). Why does this happen? Under normal circumstances, iTunes stores all song information you see in two places, in the song files themselves and in its own proprietary databa...

Great question!

Once artwork is fetched by MPFreaker, where is the artwork stored? Is it in the song files themselves? How large is the artwork (on average)? Is the image for a single album duplicated in every song file for that album? Artwork added by MPFreaker is indeed stored in the song files themselves. For t...

MPFreaker hanging on info-gathering

Am I the only one unable to connect to towerrecords.com from MPFreaker 1.1 OR 1.2 this week? Frustrating. PS I have installed MPF 1.2 on a new 10.4.2 1.5Ghz Powerbook and get the same lack of results. The progress bar starts to move on the first track in the list but seems to hang. I left the serac...

Updates

Actually, if you're still using the same computer that you had used MPFreaker 1.0 on, all you need to do is visit http://www.lairware.com/download/ to download the latest version, then replace your old one. MPFreaker should remember your registration code and carry on in fully licensed mode. At any ...

MPFreaker hanging

MPF hangs and quits when it modifies some specific songs for album and artworks. Looks like it can't write id3 tag info into some mp3 files? Or some files don't want to be changed? This looks quite critical problem to me. I have to force quit the app average every 10-20 songs. It would be rather ok...

Ooh, scathing subject ...

Really, I would love to fix this. I have heard from one other person experiencing this, and they have given me a crash report which I'm delving into. If it's crashing such that you too get a crash report window, please copy/paste the report to support@lairware.com. If it isn't displaying a crash rep...

MPFreaker hanging

This sounds like MPFreaker 1.0 hanging; you should find that the latest release is much more stable. No skip button is necessary when it doesn't hang. :)

Changes made in MPFreaker 1.0 not appearing in iTunes

MPFreaker 1.1 will be much better at ensuring that iTunes pays more attention to its song files, but in the mean time ... First, a little education. Song information (title, artist, album, year, artwork, etc.) for a song is stored within that song's file itself. Whenever you edit that information us...

Tiger

In keeping with the original subject title, I'll keep this short, but I promise I'll address the important issues you brought up in a new topic. None of the things you two have mentioned have anything to do with Tiger (OS X 10.4). The only MPFreaker behavior that has changed with the introduction of...
