Beta 7 available

Post by beastie » Fri May 07, 2004 1:10 pm

Beta 7 is now up in the downloads area, if you haven't noticed.
  • Improved stability
    Improved song matching
New Show Current Song command selects the song being scanned
Can now load a directory of music by drag-and-dropping it to MPFreaker's song list area
No longer will use info from neighboring songs if overwrite selected
Many other minor fixes and improvements
... and never mind the fact that beta 6 will expire in a week

Problem?

I've just upgraded from b6 and I now only get one search and then it reverts to "unregistered" mode. Relaunching again gives me one search, seemingly of any length, then reverts back again. My registration details still appear as normal.

:(

This version is definitely faster, but it seems less good at actually looking up info.

I have tons of songs with pretty good song/artist/album tags in which no artwork is looked up.

These are not obscure albums.... George Clinton, The Smiths, The Ramones, etc...

any ideas on how to make the lookups better. I don't mind if they are slower as long as the info is good.

v7 is very buggy.

Basically it's only looking up a very few songs even when artist/track are perfect and the songs are common....

earlier version was much better but I threw it out! Can you post an earlier version!
